The Lightkeeper Incense was created for June’s What the Tide Returned collection, where everything is a little salt-worn, a little haunted, and a little too familiar with the sound of waves against stone.

Lighthouses have always carried a strange kind of magic. They stand at the edge of things, watching over the place where the land gives way, where the water takes over, where ships either find their way home or learn the hard truth of the rocks. A lighthouse does not calm the storm or soften the sea. It simply keeps watch. It cuts through the dark long enough to say, here, here is the shore, here is the danger, here is the way back if you can still reach it.

This incense belongs to that feeling.

The scent is oceanic and atmospheric, with salt mist, ozone, soft florals, pale musk, cedar, and the clean cold breath of water moving somewhere in the dark. It feels like fog against glass, wet stone underfoot, an old coastal ghost tending the lamp, and the hush that comes right before something rises from the tide.

Directions

Place one cone on a heat-safe incense burner or fire-safe dish. Light the tip, allow it to catch briefly, then gently blow out the flame so the cone smolders and releases fragrant smoke.
