September Just Add Magic - Limited Edition Jump Ins

This listing is for a one-time jump-in box for September’s Just Add Magic theme, Bog Witch.

For September, we are leaving behind the heat and tangled abundance of the swamp and moving into colder, quieter ground, where mist settles low over dark water, peat gives softly beneath your boots, and moss slowly erases the edges of whatever was once placed there.

Bogs are landscapes that keep things. In their cold, acidic, oxygen-poor depths, decomposition can slow enough for wood, pollen, tools, offerings, jewelry, food, and even human remains to survive for hundreds or thousands of years, leaving the past much closer to the surface than we are accustomed to finding it.

Bog Witch is inspired by peatlands and ancient wetlands, archaeological discoveries, folk practices, divination, weathered stone, buried objects, old offerings, and the eerie intimacy of finding evidence that something was here long before you and may remain long after you are gone.

This month, we are exploring preservation, listening, divination, memory, and the things we leave behind, with one foot in the historical and one in the magical. Not everything buried disappears, not everything preserved was meant to be found, and sometimes the work is less about demanding an answer from the earth than becoming quiet enough to notice what has been waiting beneath the surface all along.

Expect something earthy, ancient, tactile, and just a little unsettling, with stone warmed in the palm, leather cord wound around the fingers, smoke curling through damp air, marks worked into slate, and objects that feel as though they belong to a practice older than the explanation for them.

September sits at the threshold of the darker half of the year, and Bog Witch is where we begin to listen for what has been kept.

As always, each Just Add Magic box is curated around the month’s theme and may include a mix of Blackwater-made ritual goods, fragrance items, home or body goods, printed materials, magical tools, creative extras, and other treasures depending on where the theme takes us.

Boxes are typically ready between the 3rd and 4th week of the month.
